Description
There are multiple matches for SLSR, including the Straight Leg Raise test and the South London Stroke Register.
The Straight Leg Raise (SLR) test, also known as the Lasegue test, isa physical examination maneuver for patients with lower back pain. The test is used to assess for nerve root irritation in the lumbosacral region. It’s also used to identify disc herniation and neural compression.
During the test, the examiner lifts the patient’s extended leg while they are in a supine position. The test is considered positive if the patient experiences pain along the lumbar roots. The examiner stops the test when the patient experiences pain or maximum flexion is reached.
A negative test suggests a different cause for the back pain.A positive test reproduces radiating leg pain.
The SLR test has a sensitivity of 7297% for nerve root adhesion or space-occupying lesions, but a poor specificity of 1166%.
